Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Tax Analyst to join our team at Standard Tax Filing. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state taxation, with hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns. You will work closely with tax preparers, client managers, and compliance specialists to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and full compliance with IRS regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065) accurately using Drake Tax Software.

Analyze client financial data, income statements, and supporting documents to ensure compliance with tax laws.

Research tax codes, regulations, and recent updates to apply the correct treatment across various filings.

Assist in the preparation of tax planning reports and projections for clients.

Review prior-year returns and make necessary amendments or adjustments.

Support in responding to IRS or state tax notices, ensuring timely and compliant resolutions.

Maintain and update client documentation with precision and confidentiality.

Collaborate with senior tax professionals to enhance internal processes and data accuracy.

Ensure all filings meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Provide internal analytical support for process automation and data integrity initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
1–3 years of professional experience in U.S. taxation, accounting, or tax analysis, preferably within a tax preparation or CPA firm.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Drake Tax Software and other tax platforms.

Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state tax laws.

Experience preparing forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.

Familiarity with QuickBooks, Excel, and financial data management tools.

Understanding of IRS compliance standards and e-filing procedures.
Good to Have Skills:

Knowledge of tax research tools (e.g., CCH, Thomson Reuters).

Experience in data reconciliation and variance analysis.

Exposure to international tax reporting (FBAR/FATCA) is a plus.
